HAND SIGNS FOR COUNTY

Jamie Hand

Jamie Hand's trial in Rodger Wylde's testimonial match at Edgeley Park last night has paid dividends for the former England under-19 international.

Ian Bogie and Alan Lord have moved to make Hand's move to County permanent because of his experience, infuence on the field of play and his passing ability.

Stockport County this morning confirmed that the 29-year-old has now signed a contract at the club and will be a key part of the new County midfield, alongside Ian Craney, for the new Conference North season.

Combative midfielder Hand - who can count periods at Northampton, Ebbsfleet, Lincoln City, Hayes & Yeading, Luton Town and Mansfield Town among his previous experience - impressed with a gutsy midfield display in the second half of the testimonial against a young, fast Sheffield Wednesday squad.

Assistant manager Alan Lord said: "Jamie Hand brings experience and influence to what we perceive as a free flowing but hard working midfield - Jamie is a seasoned campaigner at Conference level with a varied range of passing qualities."

Jamie Hand added: "It’s a big club. I spoke to the manager and was impressed with his views and I’m pleased to sign for County.

"I'm a player that likes to get on the ball, pass it around and give 100% effort with a desire to win.

“I’ve enjoyed my time so far and I think the manager is putting together a great squad.”
