ELWOOD WALKS ON THE WYLDE SIDE TONIGHT

Brendan Elwood is back at Edgeley Park tonight

Rodger Wylde will walk out onto the Edgeley Park pitch tonight accompanied by County legends Brendan Elwood and Dave Jones.

With typical modesty, even though this evening's entertainment is a tribute to his 25-year-tenure at Stockport County, Rodger chose the occasion to pay tribute to someone else.

"I've decided to walk out on to the pitch with Brendan and Dave because they both played a huge part in making this club so great, " he said this morning.

"If it wasn't for Brendan Elwood neither Dave Jones nor myself would have enjoyed the careers we have - so we have a lot to thank him for."

Rodger says he can't wait for this evening's festivities to kick-off.

Dave Jones, County legend

"There's going to be so many old faces from my career at the ground tonight - it really is such a treat. People like Chris Waddle, Gary Dicker, Adam le Fondre, Jim McNulty, Gareth Owen, and Ian (Thomas-)Moore. It will be fantastic to see them all again.

"And it will be like rolling back the years for the County fans, as well as having a chance to see some of the new players who will be representing the club next year."

Admission prices for Rodger's big night, where Stockport County legends take on a team of former Sheffield Wednesday Legends, are £10 for adults, £5 concessions (over 65 and 16-21 years old) and £3 kids. Tickets can be bought from the ticket office before the match and the club has confirmed it will have cash turnstiles in operation.
